"Don't rush into marriage because your friends are getting married" — Hair vendor shares painful regret

"Don't rush into marriage because your friends are getting married" — Hair vendor shares painful regret

A hair vendor has advised women not to allow societal expectations or peer pressure push them into marriage, warning that the people urging them to settle down often disappear when marital problems arise.

In a video shared online, the businesswoman said many women make the mistake of rushing into marriage simply because their friends are getting married, only to end up facing years of unhappiness.

According to her, she constantly tells women to take their time before making such a life-changing decision.

"If I could go back in time to tell my younger self one thing, it would be: take your time and don't rush into marriage just because your friends are getting married," she said.

She also advised against long-distance relationships, saying they can take a toll on a person's mental health.

"Don't do distance. Don't do long-distance relationships. It's not okay for your mental health. You will lose it. Don't do it," she warned.

In the caption accompanying the video, the vendor revealed that she got married because she didn't want to be left behind as her friends were tying the knot.

She lamented that the decision left her trapped in an unhappy marriage for 11 years, urging women to make marriage decisions based on personal conviction rather than external pressure.
